You spend the whole car ride rehearsing “Nice to meet you, I’m _” and wondering if his parents will think you’re pretty enough. Smart enough. Funny enough. You pass by a house just around the corner, where those questions have already been answered.
V. During dinner he asks how many spoonfuls of sugar you would like with your tea. You politely answer three, knowing that there’s only one person who would know that you don’t like drinking tea to begin with.” Starting over is really, really hard….
